Los Angeles Hosts The World Premier of 'The Power of Mentorship
– The Movie', Thursday, December 6th at The Landmark Theatre in
Westwood
Los
Angeles—The Power of Mentorship – The Movie, the new
independent feature film about a young man’s journey from
poverty to success will have its first public screening at a
festive community celebration Thursday, December 6, 2007, at
the Landmark Theatre, located at 10850 West Pico at Westwood Blvd
in Los
Angeles, CA. Preceding the movie’s theatrical release, this
one-time event features cast members in the film along with
live interviews at the Crowne Plaza Hotel 1150 South Beverly
Drive, Los Angeles, CA.
The
passionate, soulful urban drama about the inner struggle of a
young janitor trying to rise up out of the seemingly endless
cycle of poverty and depression only to come face to face with
the man that changes his life forever gives great insight into
our own doubts and fears. The cast is lead by veteran
publishing mogul Don Boyer, actor Ismael Perez and features
many high profile motivational speakers, business coaches and
entrepreneurs, including cameos by well-known Motivational
Speakers Bob Proctor, Marie Diamond and Vic Johnson. In form
true to it’s global mission, the film features 27 incredible
cameos of amazing talent and insight.
In the film, a narrative based entirely on a true story, a
depressed and saddened janitor is torn between his admiration
of the American Dream and the bleak outlook of his chances of
attaining those dreams. The politics of education and doubt
play into his life as well as the sense of hopelessness and
lack of confidence that he too may some day acquire the wealth
and happiness that seems so far out of reach.
The Power of Mentorship - The Movie Premier is a celebration of
both the film and the dream that inspired its creation. The
producers and directors chose The Landmark Theatre — occupying
an urban area surrounded by the affluence of Beverly Hills and
Hollywood on one side and the rough and tumble neighborhoods of
Santa Monica and Inglewood on the other— as the event site
primarily because of its connection to and location within the
community. Boyer noted, “The location truly represents all the
different kinds of emotions in the movie.”
The
media interviews will start at 2:00pm and continue until 3:45pm
at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Beverly Hills. A few of the
featured people to be interviewed are Bob Proctor, Vic Johnson,
Marie Diamond, Mick Moore, Robin Jay and Yasmine Bijan.
Limos will
Leave the Crown Plaza Hotel with cast members en route to the
Landmark Theatre at 4:15pm. All Limos will arrive
at the Theater at 5:00pm – 6:00pm with a Red Carpet walk to the
theatre.
There will be a personal
greeting from Executive Producer Don Boyer at 6:15pm and the
movie will start at 6:30pm
Immediately following
the film, each cast member, crew member and sponsor will be
